Week 4 Studs and Duds Report

Week 4 of the PML season is now in the books. The week was kicked off with a GOTW matchup and it did not disappoint. It was a tough hard fought battle between the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans both whom were unbeaten coming in. The Colts were able to contain superstar running back Javian Hawkins to 33 yards on the ground as they prevailed 27-13. All of the unbeaten teams outside of the Texans from Week 3 continued their winning ways once again as the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New York Giants and Washington Football Team were all victorious. We also saw some teams pick up that elusive first victory as the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams all came out on top to score 1 in the win column. Currently we are down to 3 clubs in search of their first win in the Carolina Panthers, and two AFC West clubs in the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders. With all that being said let’s look at the guys who performed at an exceptional level in Week 4 (call them studs) as well as guys who didn’t impress as much (let’s call them duds).

Week 4 Studs QB

  1. Lamar Jackson QB Baltimore Ravens

     16-22 260 Yards 3 TD 1 INT

     32 Yards Rushing 3 TD

The reigning AFC North champions have gotten back on track following a week 1 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The dual threat Jackson was spectacular in Week 4 once again accounting for 6 touchdowns matching his total from a week prior as the Ravens walked away with a 43-30 victory over the visiting Tennessee Titans.

2. Dwayne Haskins QB WFT

    29-33 402 Yards 5 TD 0 INT

The WFT and its high powered offense continued to roll as they eclipsed the 40 point mark for the 3rd time in 4 games and Haskins was at the fore front of it. Haskins threw for over 400 yards and 5 scores to help the WFT stay perfect with a 45-22 road win over the New York Jets.

3. Michael Penix QB Los Angeles Rams

    12-14 321 Yards 3 TD 0 INT

The rookie Penix had his best game as a pro in Week 4 and the result was the first victory of the season for the Rams. Penix threw for over 300 yards and 3 scores as the Rams knocked off division rival San Francisco 49ers on the road 42-23.

Week 4 Duds QB

  1. Kyler Murray QB Arizona Cardinals

        10-17 80 Yards 0TD 2 INT

The Cardinals passing game struggles continued as they failed to eclipse the 100 yard mark for the 2nd time in 4 contests. Murray threw for 80 yards and 2 picks as the Cardinals fell to the Minnesota Vikings 27-20 at home.

2. Jayden Daniels QB New York Jets

    12-30 136 Yards 2 TD 6 INT

The second year Daniels was unable to find success through the air as his completion percentage was well below 50% and he turned the ball over 6 times in a 45-22 home loss to the WFT.

3. Davis Mills QB New Orleans Saints

    31-42 310 Yards 1 TD 6 INT

Mills who was brought over in a trade from the San Francisco 49ers this off season struggles continued in a 38-7 loss at home to the Seattle Seahawks. Mills tossed 6 interceptions on the day bringing his season total to 11 against 3 touchdowns.

4. Zach Wilson QB Chicago Bears

    26-41 286 Yards 2 TD 6 INT

The gunslinger Wilson and the Bears were unable to keep pace with the undefeated Detroit Lions and a big reason for that was the turnover bug. Wilson threw 6 interceptions on the day as the Bears fell 47-21 at home.

Week 4 Studs RB

  1. Joe Mixon RB Cincinnati Bengals

      222 Yards Rushing 3 TD

      1 Reception 10 Yards

The Bengals were able to rebound in Week 4 following a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens the previous week, and Joe Mixon was a big part of it. Mixon rushed for over 200 yards and 3 scores as the Bengals won the battle of Ohio and knocked off the Cleveland Browns 52-23 at home.

2. Phillip Lindsay  RB New England Patriots

    180 Yards Rushing 2 TD

    1 Reception 7 Yards

Lindsay was spectacular once again as he carried the ball only 11 times but was able to rack up 180 yards on the ground as the New England Patriots routed the Pittsburgh Steelers 65-10 to remain unbeaten.

3. Kavoisey Smoke RB Seattle Seahawks

     60 Yards Rushing 3 TD

     2 Receptions 16 Yards

The rookie Smoke is doing an admirable job filling in for the suspended Rashaad Penny. Smoke notched 3 scores on the day bringing his season total to 7 as the Seahawks knocked off the New Orleans Saints 38-7.

4. Saquon Barkley RB New York Giants

     84 Yards Rushing 2 TD

     4 Receptions 81 Yards

The numbers aren’t as gaudy as usual for Barkley but they are still off the charts. Barkley was over 160 all purpose yards on the day with 2 scores as the Giants remained perfect with a 48-17 victory on the road over the Miami Dolphins.

Week 4 Duds RB

  1. Deandre Swift & Derrius Guice RB

        Las Vegas Raiders

        10 Carries 14 Yards

The backfield for the Las Vegas Raiders early season struggles continued in Week 4 as they were stopped in their tracks as the Los Angeles Chargers held them to 14 yards rushing combined in a 38-24 home loss.

2. Breece Hall RB Miami Dolphins

     8 Carries 4 Yards

The Dolphins young star running back was stymied in Week 4. Hall struggled to find any real estate, only gaining 4 yards on the ground in a 48-17 loss at home to the visiting New York Giants.

3. Javian Hawkins RB Houston Texans

    15 Carries 33 Yards

The superstar Hawkins was unable to get going in Week 4 as the Indianapolis Colts bottled him up to a season low 33 yards on the ground as the Texans fell at home 27-13.
