NFC West Off Season Report

NFC West Off Season Report

As we enter into week 4 of the PML Pre season, the excitement of a fresh slate of games is in the air. It was an eventful off season in which we saw numerous trades of super star players and draft picks. Some teams strapped against the cap were more hesitant to make moves as they keep an eye towards to future re signings, while others pushed there chips to the middle of the table and have went all in. Let’s take a look at the 3 top off season moves of each team in the NFC West.

Arizona Cardinals 10-6 NFC West Champs

  1. Demond Demas WR
  2. Habakkuk Baldonado LE
  3. Christopher Hinton

The defending NFC West champion Arizona Cardinals had a quiet off season with several big contacts looming. They were able to draft some solid players who should make an impact. WR Demond Demas is a speedster who should carve out a role by seasons end and can be a long term option should they let Deandre Hopkins walk next off season. Habakkuk Baldonado and Christopher Hinton will both provide depth on the defensive line and although they may not see significant time  the Cardinals will try to develop both with an eye on the 2024 season.

Seattle Seahawks 8-8

  1. Kavosiey Smoke RB
  2. Trey Knox WR
  3. Akeem Dent CB

The Seattle Seahawks were in position to make the post season in 2022 ultimately losing a play in game vs the WFT in week 17. They return most of the team but will be without one key player for 8 games in Rashaad Penny who was suspended. In steps Kavosiey Smoke who will be thrown into the fire and be leaned upon to be the lead back in his absence. Trey Knox will start the season as third on the Wr depth chart but before long he will be lining up in all 3 Wr sets. Akeem Dent is a solid corner who joins a young secondary room and will probably start the season 3/4th on the depth chart.

San Francisco 49ers 6-10

  1. Trey Lance QB
  2. Zack Martin. RG
  3. Jordan Wilmore RB

The San Francisco 49ers were very active this off season bringing in a new franchise quarterback Trey Lance  in a trade with the New Orleans Saints. An immediate upgrade who will help the passing attack of the 49ers. Zack Martin one of the premier offensive lineman in the PML was brought over in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys and should help greatly in both the passing and running game. Running back Jordan Wilmore was a guy who was targeted by the 49ers ownership as they traded up in the first round to grab him will be the immediate bell cow in San Fran following the trade of Ty Chandler to the Detroit Lions.

Los Angeles Rams 1-15

  1. Michael Penix Jr QB
  2. Taylor Decker LT
  3. Keenan Allen WR

The Los Angeles Rams had an abysmal 2022 season finishing in the basement of the PML. They were very active in free agency and in the draft snagging some players who they hope to make a difference. Michael Penix Jr was drafted to fill the hole of franchise quarterback in LA and will be a day one starter. With any young quarterback you want to make sure he is well protected and that’s what the Rams did in trading for LT Taylor Decker who will provide protection for the rookie Penix. Keenan Allen was signed to give the young signal caller a veteran target to help with the growing pains of a rookie quarterback.
