As we enter into week 4 of the PML Pre season, the excitement of a fresh slate of games is in the air. It was an eventful off season in which we saw numerous trades of super star players and draft picks. Some teams strapped against the cap were more hesitant to make moves as they keep an eye towards to future re signings, while others pushed there chips to the middle of the table and have went all in. Let’s take a look at the 3 top off season moves of each team in the AFC South.
Indianapolis Colts 9-7 AFC South Champs
Will Putnam RG
Otis Reese FS
Laquan Johnson LE
The Indianapolis Colts had a successful 2022 season winning the AFC South and making it to the AFC divisional round where they ultimately fell to the Super Bowl Champion Buffalo Bills. The Colts lost starter Anthony Costonso to retirement so they spent there 1st round pick on Will Putnam who should be an immediate starter. Laquan Johnson another draft pick will try to fill the void of Justin Houston who they lost to free agency. Otis Reese FS another player who was drafted will provide depth in the defensive backfield which can ultimately lead to the shift of Malik Hooker to SS.
Tennessee Titans 9-7
Joe Burrow QB
Kenyan Drake RB
Matt Skura C
The Tennessee Titans shocked the PML world in 2022 making the post season as a wild card team, knocking off the Baltimore Ravens in the wild card round before going on the road to knock off Super Bowl favorite the top seeded Los Angelas Chargers. Ultimately they would fall in the AFC championship game to the Buffalo Bills but it was a great season. They decided to address the Qb position and opt for a younger skilled player in Joe Burrow instead of the aging veteran Aaron Rodgers who they acquired in trade from the Cincinnati Bengals.
They added another weapon to the backfield in Kenyan Drake who will be the lightning to the Derek Henry’s thunder. With every successful running attack it starts with the offensive line, so they bring in the veteran Matt Skura to be the leader inside.
Jacksonville Jaguars 7-9
Arik Gilbert TE
Jordan McFadden RG
Nick Mardner WR
The Jacksonville Jaguars had a quiet off season on the free agency front not making any significant signings. They had an excellent draft in taking Arik Gilbert TE who till team with Albert Okwuegbunam to form a solid 1-2 punch. Jordan McFadden will address a need along the offensive line and Nick Mardner one of the nations top receivers will provide some depth to the Jaguars receiving core.
The Texans pulled one of the biggest moves of the PML off season trading Deshaun Watson to the Pittsburgh Steelers with an eye on the defensive side of the ball with bringing in Devin Bush to roam the middle of the field. Chase Claypool is a matchup nightmare in the tight end position and Rakim Jarrett one of the top receivers in the PML draft class will make an immediate impact and will likely be a long term replacement for upcoming free agent Brandin Cooks.
