AFC North Off Season Report

As we enter into week 4 of the PML Pre season, the excitement of a fresh slate of games is in the air. It was an eventful off season in which we saw numerous trades of super star players and draft picks. Some teams strapped against the cap were more hesitant to make moves as they keep an eye towards to future re signings, while others pushed there chips to the middle of the table and have went all in. Let’s take a look at the 3 top off season moves of each team in the AFC North.

Baltimore Ravens 11-5 AFC North Champs

  1. Jace Sternberger TE
  2. Michael Brockers DT
  3. Lewis Cine FS

The defending AFC north champs suffered a huge blow to the defensive line in the loss of Calais Campbell to retirement so they bring in the veteran Michael Broeckers to fill the void. Jace Sternbeger comes over from the Green Bay Packers and will provide Lamar Jackson with another weapon. Lewis Cine the rookie FS draft pick should make an immediate impact and may lead to the move of Jevon Holland to SS with the aging Ricardo Allen currently listed as the starter on the depth chart. 

Pittsburgh Steelers 6-10

  1. Deshaun Watson QB
  2. Jaden Haselwood/Julio Jones WR
  3. Troy Dye MLB

The Pittsburgh Steelers were very active this off season making numerous impactful moves with an eye on the AFC north crown. A focus on the offensive side this off season bringing in Deshaun Watson one of the top quarterbacks in the PML in a trade as well as two new targets to throw to in Julio Jones via trade and Jaden Haselwood the top WR in the PML draft. On the defensive side of the ball they address a need at MLB and bring in Troy Dye who will slot in as a starter to fill the void of Devin Bush.

Cleveland Browns 4-12

  2. Keon Zipperer TE
  3. Johnny Hekker P

The Cleveland Browns were active on the phone lines this off season trying to make trades of some high price players but were ultimately unsuccessful due to some salary cap issues. They were able to acquire the best punter in the PML Johnny Hekker in a trade who can be a secret weapon in defensive battles in changing of field position. The prized jewel of the draft on the defensive side of the ball was KJ Henry who fell to the Browns at #6 and they pounced on him. Teaming him with Myles Garrett will make for a fierce pass rush. Keon Zipperer one of the top tight ends of the PML Draft is a freakish athlete who will provide Baker Mayfield with another weapon to throw too. 

Cincinnati Bengals 3-13

  1. Jayon Brown
  2. Kenny Clark
  3. Gardner Minnshew 

The Cincinnati Bengals got the PML world buzzing early in the off season with there blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers. The Bengals bring in the superstar Kenny Clark and add him to the middle of the defensive line to team with DJ Reader to make a solid 1-2 punch inside. Jayon Brown comes over from the Tennessee Titans to fill a huge need in the middle of the field at linebacker for the Bengals as they continue to build a solid front 7. Gardner Minshew was signed as a free agent to replace QB Joe Burrow who was shipped to Tennessee for Jayon Brown. Minshew is no stranger to the AFC North as he was the previous starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
