AFC East Off Season Report

AFC East Off Season Report

As we enter into week 4 of the PML Pre season, the excitement of a fresh slate of games is in the air. It was an eventful off season in which we saw numerous trades of super star players and draft picks. Some teams strapped against the cap were more hesitant to make moves as they keep an eye towards to future re signings, while others pushed there chips to the middle of the table and have went all in. Let’s take a look at the 3 top off season moves of each team in the AFC East.

Buffalo Bills 13-3.  Super Bowl Champions

  1. Henry Ruggs WR
  2. Joe Schobert MLB
  3. Demarkus Bowman RB

The Super Bowl champions are in position to repeat as they spent their off season re tooling and ultimately upgrading. They acquired Henry Ruggs in a trade for Stefon Diggs, replaced Chandler Jones with a younger Joe Schobert , and replaced Super Bowl MVP Tevin Coleman with the top RB in the 2023 PML Draft in Demarkus Bowman from the University of Florida.

New England Patriots 13-3

  1. Micah Hyde SS
  2. Quavaris Crouch MLB
  3. Marquis Wilson CB

The New England Patriots had a very successful 2022 season making it in the post season as a wild card team ultimately bowing out to the Indianapolis Colts. It was a relatively quiet off season for the Patriots with there most impactful signing being Micah Hyde who will be an important piece for on the back end of the Patriots secondary. 1st Round pick Quavaris Crouch should have an immediate impact in the middle of the Pats defense while Marquis Wilson will be someone who is more of a long term plan at cornerback with some aging veterans ahead of him on the depth chart.

Miami Dolphins 9-7

  1. Brian Winters. RG
  2. Kevin Zietler.   RT
  3. Devin McCourty FS

The Miami Dolphins shocked the PML world bouncing back from a poor start at 0-4 and ultimately making the post season. There prize was a matchup vs eventual Super Bowl Champion Buffalo Bills which resulted in a 48-0 road loss. Using that as fuel to improve, the Dolphins decided to bring in some veterans along the offensive line in Brian Winters and Kevin Zietler who should open up holes for 2nd year back Breece Hall. The Dolphins bring in Devin McCourty from the Patriots who will slide in to a starting role and provide mentor ship to young up and coming star DaMarcus Fields.

New York Jets  4-12

  1. Eli Ricks.  CB
  2. Aaron Rodgers  QB
  3. Tomari Fox. RE

The New York Jets playing in the toughest division on the PML looked to improve on the defensive side of the ball with there 1st and 2nd round picks. Eli Ricks will start the season as 3rd on the depth chart but ultimately taking over as the #2 CB by mid season. Tomari Fox will make an immediate impact on the defensive line teaming with Quinnen Williams and Trey Hendrickson. Aaron Rodgers situation is interesting one to monitor as last seasons starter Jayden Daniels did flash some signs of brilliance in his first season under center, but will the Jets look to the veteran Rodgers who led the Tennessee Titans to the AFC title game.
