The Colts defense gave up the most yards and points it had in four games as the Texans piled up 417 yards from scrimmage in a 31-17 defeat. The game was dictated early as the Colts could not slow down Deshaun Watson as he amassed 321 yards through the air. The Colts came out of the gate fine, but struggled out of the half and got behind early in the third quarter. The Colts managed just 204 passing yards through the air and Jameis Winston threw another back breaking interception. Jonathan Taylor was able to manage just 87 rush yards on 19 attempts and was bottled up most of the afternoon. While he was bottled up in the ground game Taylor gained 183 yards on 12 receptions in what was easily his best offensive game receiving as a pro. The entire receiver core was bottled up through out the game. On defense Deforest Buckner had the lone sack and added another tackle for loss. Bobby Okereke has 9 tackles and added an interception as he continues his breakout campaign. He was one of the few bright spots in the game defensively. The Colts gave up 7 catches to Will Fuller for 206 yards and a touchdown. The defense did a poor job on matching up with the speedster. This is a huge blow in their playoff chances as they slip to 4-6 now. After the game we caught up with Jonathan Taylor who seemed to be upset when a reporter asked about his performance “ Man those yards done mean sh*t, did we win ? No, so don’t ask if I was happy with my performance. This is a team game, and our team was not good enough today. We will be meeting after the game to discuss how we can do better the rest of the way. We’ve had some solid practices, but it didn’t show on the field today. It’s frustrating”. Those were some loaded words from the former mvp as it seems the teams struggles have brought down his morale. A players only meeting may be what this teams needs to turn this season around and we will see how it helps in next weeks matchup against against division foe Tennessee. The two teams clashed in week one with the Colts pulling out an important victory. It’s tough to call many week 12 games must win, but if the Colts want a shot in the afc south they badly need this win.
