It is now week 15 on the PML season and the NFC West still remains undecided. This week we will see the Arizona Cardinals look to stay atop the division when they make a trip to California to face a very unlikely dark horse that has arose from the bottom of the NFC West and is making a last ditch effort to get to the front of the line. That dark horse is the San Francisco 49ers. After starting the season at 2-8, the Niners could have packed it in and started focusing on next season and a top 5 draft pick. Instead they have reeled off 3 straight victories, all of which have been in impressive fashion which we have seen the offense averaging over 39.5 points per game. The recipe for success for this offense has been quite simple, give the ball to running back Ty Chandler. During this winning streak Chandler has racked up 466 yards on the ground and added 4 scores. First year signal caller Davis Mills has played better as of late, throwing for 7 TDs during this stretch but has also thrown for the same amount of interceptions. On the defensive side of the ball it has been the Nick Bosa show. Bosa has racked up 5 Sacks and 2 forced fumbles during this current winning streak and as he goes this defense goes. The road to the post season for the 49ers is not an easy one as they need to take care of their business as well as get a little help from others. The first step for them in the gauntlet starts this week.
Keys to Victory for 49ers vs Cardinals
Establish the running game with Ty Chandler (Cardinals 25th against run)
Limit the throws Davis Mills need to make (Cardinals 40 team interceptions)
Pass rush force Kyler Murray to beat you with his arm (23rd passing yards ppg)
Locate Isaiah Simmons at all times
Remaining Schedule for 49ers
Week 15 vs Arizona Cardinals
Week 16 @ Los Angeles Rams
Week 17 vs Chicago Bears
The Arizona Cardinals enter this contest losing 3 out of their last 5 games. Kyler Murray has struggled during this stretch throwing for 15 interceptions. Nyheim Hines has been the bell cow back for the Cardinals all season rushing for over 1000 yards and scoring 18 TDs but an injury in week 14 to his MCL will have him on the sidelines for this pivotal matchup. Rookie Jerion Ealy will be moved to the front of the line for the Cards and will be called upon to handle the workload. On the defensive side of the ball Isaah Simmons has been a monster all season. He enters Week 15 with 10 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles and 3 defensive touchdowns. In the week 12 loss vs the 49ers (40-28) it was Andy Isabella who led the offense with 150 yards receiving and 2 scores and Byron Murphy led the defense with 2 interceptions. The road to the post season is quite simple for the Cardinals. Win and your in.
