AFC Division Races Heating Up!

With just 4 PML Regular season games remaining for all teams, the pressure is starting to mount. The AFC West (Los Angeles Chargers) and AFC North Division (Baltimore Ravens) have been decided and those clubs will just look to finish the season healthy and solidify their playoff seedings. Division Races in the AFC East and AFC South still remained unsolved with a few big hurdles left on each clubs schedule.

AFC West

  1. Los Angeles Chargers (12-0)
  2. Denver Broncos (6-6)
  3. Las Vegas Raiders (3-9)
  4. Kansas City Chiefs (3-9)

The Los Angeles Chargers (12-0) have clinched the AFC West and look to be on there way to home field advantage throughout the post season needing just one win in there next 4 games.

Games Remaining for Chargers

Week 17 @ Los Angeles Rams

AFC North

  1. Baltimore Ravens (9-3)
  2. Cleveland Browns (4-8)
  3. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-8)
  4. Cincinnati Bengals (2-10)

The Baltimore Ravens have clinched the AFC North following a New England Patriots victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 13. They currently sit in the 3rd spot in the AFC trailing the New England Patriots (10-2) the current #2 seed. The Ravens will be hoping to better their playoff seeding by handling there business as well as receiving some help. They hold the tie breaker over the Buffalo Bills (24-17) a road win in Week 1, but they lost a Week 11 heartbreaker vs the New England Patriots (21-20) which could play pivotal in whoever captures the AFC East crown for seeding.

As of right now the Patriots have a divisional record (2-1) and the Bills at (4-1). The Bills control their own destiny, should they win out, they would be the winners of the AFC East and store owners in Buffalo would have to place orders on extra folding tables, because Bills Mafia will be rocking.

Week 17 @ Indianapolis Colts

The AFC South is the tightest division race featuring the most parity from top to bottom. All four teams are still in the mix for both the division crown, as well as the the wildcard. Realistically speaking there is a high probability that they will be sending 3 representatives from the division to the post season. Entering into week 14 it’s the Colts who sit atop the division, and who also own the easiest path to the division crown with 4 matchups vs teams with losing records (Chiefs, Raiders, Jaguars, Jets). The Colts hold the tie breaker over the Tennessee Titans (6-6) who they have beat 2 times this season, but have fell to the Houston Texans in both matchups. The Titans biggest test will come in Week 16 when they welcome the Washington Football Team into Nissan Stadium.  The Houston Texans road features a Week 16 matchup with the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers and a potential play in game with the Tennessee Titans in week 17. The Jacksonville are the long shot of the bunch as they have the toughest schedule remaining, with a game a piece vs each of the teams in the division, as well as a trip to Lincoln Financial Field to play the Philadelphia Eagles. All these teams have the opportunity to control their own destiny, which should make for an interesting few weeks of PML football.
