The Colts beat the rams last night to get back to 500 on the year. Sitting at 2-2 through 4 games, is a slight improvement from last years 1-4 start. The Defense forced 5 turnovers which was needed as Jameis Winston struggled again. He threw 3 interceptions and had a wild fumble on a play where he should have slid and some how jumped straight into the air. The colts routinely got pressure as the Rams offensive line struggled all game. Justin Houston in his first game action of the year led the way with two sacks, Darius Leonard and chandler Jones each chipped in a sack as well. Malik Hooker added his 4th int of the year, and rookie defensive tackle Darius stills who has a nose for the ball had his second fumble recovery. On offense the rushing attack led the way with 191 rushing yards as Jonathan Taylor returned to form and had a big day. Breakout sensation Parris Campbell had some huge catches for the team, including a 8 yard tow tapping touchdown reception over all pro Richard Sherman. This offensive performance led Indy to its second 40+ point performance of the year. The colts need all the momentum they can get as they kick off divisional play with the suddenly hot Jaguars next week. When asked about the matchup coach Green stated “ Divisional play is what cost us the playoffs last year, if we want any shot at the post season we need to do better in the division”. They finished 2-4 in the division last year including 0-2 to the Jags. Getting off to a better start divisionally won’t be easy as the Jaguars have the most improved roster this year and look to be contenders. Catch the game live on cbs next week.
