Colts turning to the young gun

After a disappointing 4-5 start to the season the Colts have put future hall of fame Qb Phillip Rivers on the bench. The season has been one so far of streaks, starting 0-3 before winning 4 in a row and then losing 2 back to back. The colts who had visions of playoffs before the season started are fighting for their lives currently. Rivers is not the same Qb he once was, limited by his current arm strength he just could not stretch the field and get the ball to his playmakers. That’s where Jacob Eason steps in, standing at 6’6 he can make all the throws in the league. Eason had two successful years at the college level before being drafted in the 4th round. The organization planned on letting him sit and learn before Rivers for the year, but they cannot wait any longer. They brought Eason in relief in the loss to the titans and he tore it up in the second half. That spark he gave the club was enough to get a vote of confidence from the club and be named the starter. The colts will continue to lean on a solid ground game, but look for Eason to stretch the field in a way Rivers could not. The defense has been top 10 in most statistical categories this year could use some help from the offensive side of the ball. With a tough schedule ahead including 4 divisional games, it will take a total team effort to squeeze into the playoffs.
