The Miami Dolphins made a big trade to bring in strong safety Keanu Neal from the Atlanta Falcons. The Dolphins have stock piled plenty of draft capital and decided to move some to upgrade their defense. By sending young CB Nik Needleham, this year’s 3rd round pick, along with next year 2nd round pick the Dolphins were able to bring in the versatile Neal.
The Dolphins currently have the number 10 ranked defense and now gets the box safety/sub linebacker added to its secondary. You will see Neal in various positions with new formations as the Miami dolphins defense gains even more versatility.
The Dolphins are about halfway through season one and are still looking to make the playoffs. Adding Neal to an already stout over performing defense brings veteran flare and a hard-hitting safety into the mix. Look for Neal to be playing in the box close to the line of scrimmage and making plays all over the field.
