If you have spoken to coach Malirojo in the chat, you know he has a passion for all things anime. With that being said, there is no better way to introduce some key pieces of his team than with his own personal flair. For you Shounen fans who are always rooting for the underdogs, this is the team you want to root for. Can we go from no playoff appearances to our first? Without further ado, I present the PML Seattle Seahawks, Anime edition:
Zone ability – Blitz Radar SS abilities – Escape Artist, Clutch, Gutsy Scrambler, Agile Extender, Long Range Deadeye
The quarterback Russell Wilson is the glue that holds this offense together. His leadership, game IQ, accuracy, and ability to extend a play will be crucial to the teams success. Despite a lackluster offensive line, the Seahawks have a plethora of weapons and with Russell’s pocket presence there should be many opportunities for this offense to excel.
3x Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen joins the Seahawks after spending the majority of his 13 year career in Carolina. Olsen brings a ton of experience and a much needed veteran presence. He will not only be a crucial part of the offense, but he will also be a great mentor for young talent such as Will Dissly, Colby Parkinson, and D.K. Metcalf.
The Big Man
The offensive line is one of the few weak points of this Seahawks team. However, Duane Brown is one bright spot, and much like Olsen, he is a much needed veteran presence. With many young and inexperienced men lining up to his right, his experience and guidance will be crucial to their development.
Since his emergence as the #1 back for Seattle in 2018, Chris Carson has put together back to back seasons of 1000 + yards. Carson will look to continue that trend in this 2020 season. Doing so will make this team very hard to defend and defenses will have to pick their poison with Russell and Carson behind the center.
The Breakout Candidate
Wide receiver D.K. Metcalf brings a large physical presence that’s accompanied by some scary speed. As a rookie last season Metcalf put up a very impressive 900 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. All signs point toward Metcalf only getting better, and the team expects a big season from him in 2020.
The Leader / The Vet
Zone ability: Momentum Shift SS abilities: Strip Specialist, Tackle supreme
In a defense that contains a fair amount of youth, and newly acquired free agents who are learning a new system, I can’t think of a better field general to be leading them. Wagner still has the athleticism and coverage abilities to play the passing game, and is one of the best out there at reading the field and making plays against the run. He will be a valuable mentor to young talent on this team.
The Difference Maker
Zone ability: Reinforcement SS abilities: Enforcer, Flat Zone KO
Adams enters his 4th season in the NFL on a new team. Adams has been a superb talent, and despite having limited time with the team, the organization is very confident he will be a difference maker on defense. His ability to create turnovers in the passing game and force fumbles in run support makes him one of the most valuable, if not the most valuable, player in the game.
The Big Man
Jarran Reed is one of the most well rounded players on this team. Reed can use a combination of power and finesse moves to get to the quarterback. Additionally, he has top notch awareness and play recognition coupled with great pursuit and tackling ability that can be utilized in run support.
The Breakout Candidate
We spoke earlier about the impact Bobby Wagner will have as a leader and a mentor, and one guy that he has praised in training camp is fellow linebacker Jordyn Brooks. As a rookie, high praise from one of the best in the league is not something you hear everyday. We cannot wait to see this rookie display his talent on the field and we expect him to be a foundational piece to the team for years to come.
