Free agency is right around the corner and the Colts have a few signings that they will have to consider. Three important pieces of the offense have yet to resign with the team. Wide receiver TY Hilton has still not signed a contract, even though he has been in negotiations since week 1. The barriers in this contract negotiation seems to be Hiton’s age, the amount of money he is requiring and the amount of years he is requesting. Rumor has it that the Colts are officially waiting to see if HIlton regresses this offseason before a final offer is submitted.
Defensive end Justin Houston is the next player who hasn’t resigned with the Colts. An offer was made and rejected earlier in the season. Sources say Houston is asking for deal that the Colts truly don’t want to pay. Houston is getting older, and with the Colts looking to their rookies in the future, it is unlikely that he is resigned by the team.
The final free agent not to be resigned as of yet is half back Marlon Mack. Mack has had an interesting few years with the Colts. He started out last season as the starter, only to lose his spot to Hines. This season when Hines went down with an injury, the Colts choose to start their rookie KIllins over him. With those two facts, coupled with the fact that he hasn’t even been thrown an offer, it is very likely that he will head into free agency.
