Rookie running back Travvis Etienne from the Chiefs has won the season 2 AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year award. After starting the season slow ET was able to pick up production and eventual prove himself to be a work horse running back.
The late first round draft pick came into the league with some questioning if he was the best back on the board. His ratings may have shown him to be slightly behind some of his counterparts, but his in game production proved otherwise.
While other running backs were often injured or not producing at a high rate, ET was able to shine. His first 100 yard running game came after week 8 and for the rest of the season ET put the team on his shoulders. The Chiefs won their final 8 games and ET rushed for over 100 yards in 6 of those wins.
For the season ET carried the ball 266 times for 1477 yards and 17 touchdowns. The Chiefs will look to get ET more involved in the passing game going into year 3 as the Rookie of the Year continues to involve into a future MVP…?
