Predicting the New Orleans Saints Starting Offense

Now that we’re almost to the beginning of the regular season. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the projected starting lineup for your New Orleans Saints offense.  Now this lineup will be based on a successful preseason where no one receives an injury.

Starting QB- Drew Brees

The savvy veteran continues his luxurious career in what may be his final rodeo this season. He’ll look to bounce back and finish on a better note after a rough outing last season.

Backup- Blake Bortles

Starting HB- Alvin Kamara

Kamara is one of the best players in the league. Going into the final year of his deal you can expect a big season from the star so when he finally hits the open market he’ll be able to cash in.

Starting PWHB (Power HB) Letavius Murray

Murray had a really good season last year given his lack of playing time. The 6’3, 230 pound back averaged over 5 yards a carry. Look for him to possibly be more involved now that Kamara is on his final year.

Starting WR(1)- Michael Thomas

It was a disappointing season all in all for the star receiver. This season he’s come into camp in the best shape of his life and will look good dominate the competition.

Starting WR(2)- Dede Westbrook

Former Jaguars wide receiver now joins a win now team with a better offense. With his athletic ability and having Drew Brees throwing him the ball. He very much could revive his career before it’s too late.

Starting WR(3)- Michael Crabtree

New Orleans lacked much depth behind Micheal Thomas and Dede Westbrook. A lot of unknown but talented pieces. Bringing in Crabtree gives them a stable third option and depth piece

Starting TE(1)- Jared Cook

After signing a 2 year deal with the New Orleans Saints the veteran tight end enters the final year of that deal. Given that young athletic options are in the waiting. This very much can be his last rodeo with the Saints, maybe even for his career.

Starting TE(2)- Temunchin (Bucky) Hodges

“Bucky” Hodges is not only the most athletic tight end on the roster but he’s also the best run blocker out of em all. Given his ability to do both it really helps the offense disguise what they’re going to try and do.

Starting LT- Terron Armstead

Armstead has been protecting Drew Brees’ blind side for many seasons. Now entering his eight season in the PML. He is still one of the best in the game at what he does.

Starting LG- Jake Hanson

Rookie Jake Hanson was selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 PML draft. Normally a center back in Oregon. He now translations to left guard. Some say that the Saints reached, but the Saints believe they got the right guy to fill the hole left by Andrus Peat.

Starting C- Erik McCoy

After his first season the 6’4 New Orleans Saints center looks to build off a campaign where he took major strides as an everyday center in the PML.

Starting RG- Larry Warford

Entering the final year of his 4 year contract. The veteran guard is gonna look to have another solid season to help his market come this offseason if the Saints decide to let him walk.

Starting RT- Ryan Ramczyk

Ryan Ramczyk is one of the best right tackles in the league right now. He and Terron Armstead have made a great pair over the years. Now that he’s in his final year of his deal it’s going to be interesting how the Saints handle their cap.
